It was one of those games that neither team controlled until late in the game when the Blizzard sent around three runners on base hits.

The Blizzard started it off when Jimmy Martinez slammed one over the left field fence just under the scoreboard making it a 2-0 game. The Osos then followed when Wesley Jones put one over the center field fence for a 2-run home run.

In the seventh the blizzard pulled out three runs on base hits, while the Osos pushed one across in the seventh. By the last pitch in the ninth it was a 6-3 ball game to give Taos another mark in the win column.

By Marty Mayfield
KRTN Multi-Media

It was a beautiful evening for baseball at Gabrielle Field Tuesday, however the Taos Blizzard make it cold on the Osos as they take a 9-4 win.

It was a slow game as well with several hits and easy runs to base with only a few close calls, unlike some of the other Osos games at home. The big play of the game came in the second inning when Brennan May sent one over the left field fence and scoreboard into the tree in Legion Park for a grand slam homer.

Zack Kreager nailed one out over the right center field fence for a solo home run in the sixth.

Taos  1  4  1  1  0  1  0  0  1   9
Raton1  0  0  0  0  1  0  2  0   4

A low throw to second allows Blair Springfield to slide in safe.

This time Blair Springfield doesn't make it with the throw well ahead of him.

Wes Jones gets a hit one of 11 for the Osos on the night.

Luis Gonzalez slides into second after a low fly ball into center field that comes back to catch him at second.

By Marty Mayfield

No its not a football score, it comes from the Saturday nigh performance of the 35th Annual Raton Rodeo. Great weather and another large crowd made this year's rodeo performances the place to be this weekend.

While bull riding is one of the feature events the broncs and other performers kept the crowd going especially with a few area cowgirl and cowboys performing Saturday night. While it wasnt the best night for the locals they had some exciting runs as Bryce Segotta just couldnt quite wrangle the horns of his steer and Wes Mack had a good run in the tie down roping but his calf managed to get untied.

Magin Montoya a Roy cowboy was one of those who found the dirt a little too quick in the saddle bronc competition. While Tiffany Segotta showed the girls how its done in the barrels with a 15.93 second run. As always the ladies kept the competition tight as five racers had times in the 16 seconds time frame.

While the bronc riders did better against the livestock the bulls were the clear winners over the riders by throwing 12 riders to the ground before the buzzer. Guytin Tsosie brought home the bull with an 83 score.

Tony Bockman scored a 70 with this ride Saturday evening at the Jim Young Arena.

Bryce Segotta leans in to grab the horns of this steer while dad Beaver Segotta works to keep his steer close.

One hand on the horn and the arm going around to turn the steer over, however something goes wrong and Bryce ends up with a no time.

Johnny Salvo leaps off his horse and heads for the calf to make a 11.4 second run.

In the tie-down calf roping event the horse is an all important part of the cowboy horse team, Ty Pablo's horse keeps the rope tight to make it easier for the cowboy to catch the calf and make the tie-down

Shaun Eberts shows em how its done in the saddle bronc competition.

Jordan Furnish takes this bronc to the buzzer and scores a 76 point ride.

Sam Harper who scored a 71 for his efforts dismounts this bronc in style.

Skeeter Hill and Tyler Getzwiller work it for the crowd however took a no time when the lasso missed its mark.

Kyle Roberts and Jesse Haynie make an 8.0 run Saturday evening.in the Jim Young arena

Dolli Lautaret was on her way to a 15.57 run but tipped this barrel over for a five second penalty.

Nicole Larrabee posts a 16.01 time sets the crowd on their feet as rounds the barrels.

Tiffany Segotta however shows em how its done as she rounded the barrels and flew home in 15.93 seconds.

High flying Craig Begay wont be long as this twists him off before the buzzer.

Guytin Tsosie hangs on to this rank bull for an 83 score Saturday night and was only one of three cowboys to ride Saturday night.

Will Rogers surprisingly walks away without any injuries after his evening ride.

So very important in bull riding is the bull fighters and here they move in to distract the bull from the cowboy on the ground. Rudy Hawks walks away from this one without injuries.

Shall we give him point for a dramatic dismount as Dan Curtin flies well before the 8-second buzzer Saturday night.
